We are delighted that The Good Plastic Company has attained Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze status for its innovative Polygood® surface material, made from 100% recycled and recyclable polystyrene, making it the first material of its kind to achieve this distinction. This certification propels Polygood® to the forefront of the sustainable surface materials segment, offering architects, designers, and brands a trusted solution backed by rigorous analysis, audit, and testing.
Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a leading multi-attribute standard used globally across industries by designers, brands and manufacturers that assesses the safety, sustainability, and responsibility of materials and products across five sustainability performance categories: material health, product circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness.
“We are hugely honoured that Polygood® is the first material of its kind to achieve Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze status,” commented Dr William Chizovsky, CEO of The Good Plastic Company. “This milestone not only reinforces our position as a leader in sustainable materials, but also underscores our commitment to innovation and circularity in the industry. We firmly believe that responsible manufacturing practices are vital for a better future, and this recognition further motivates us to continue our best work.”
To attain this respected certification, The Good Plastic Company underwent a rigorous audit by a team of qualified experts who scrutinised all aspects of the company’s operations, including supply chains, production, water, material, downstream stages, and other elements of the company’s Environmental Policy Strategy to ensure corporate transparency and the responsible production of Polygood® panels. As part of the process, they assessed the origin and traceability of the recycled polystyrene used for Polygood® and verified that it is sourced from reliable and certified suppliers.
