Inspired by BBC’s ‘Race Across the World’, the event will have teams racing through the heart of West Yorkshire and raising money for Forget Me Not.

Teams of two will gather at RRG Toyota Huddersfield, sponsor of the event, at 7am, before being driven to an undisclosed location to start the challenge.

Each duo will navigate through a series of checkpoints, completing tasks and competing for prizes along the way. With a strict 12-hour time limit, teams must use their wits, teamwork and resourcefulness to make it to the final destination.

This is not just a race against the clock but a test of strategy, stamina and skill. Teams will be given travelcards donated by West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA), a map, snacks and drinks and a small amount of money to buy food through the day. Phones and taxis are off limits, travel must be by public transport, on foot or using their initiative.

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.

Forget Me Not offers a wide range of services right from pregnancy, including superb nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory making, end of life care, bereavement support and counselling, and much more, all available to the whole family.

The charity needs to raise £6m this year to run the hospice, with only a fraction of those funds coming from the government or NHS.
